Who Am I?

Welcome welcome… As the curtain rises, you’ll find a silhouette of a girl. Small but mighty, I run the black box of the Drama Studio with blood, sweat, raw grit and a hundred percent talent. I joke – it’s actually entirely through coffee and red bull.

I am no theatrical professional. A 21 year-old, rather cili padi but too nice lady, who has a weird obsession with performing arts, films, photography, painting, books and storytelling. Also, a high-key lover of anime and a sucker for anything sweet. Note the irony.

I lead an amazing and dedicated team of equally motivated individuals in the Literature and Drama Society on campus as their President. You might also know me as the Head of Theatre for the University’s Performing Arts Platform (UPA). Being the first student director on campus to bring about Malaysian plays, I was also the assistant director to the University’s musical production of Les Misérables.

If you don’t find me on stage or behind-the-scenes, you’ll find me as a full-time student who spends way too much time procrastinating.

Still curious about me? Here’s a quote of what a junior thinks. In other words, you’ll find below a bunch of compliments he beautifully strung together to describe me in a wonderful light:

“She may look small and timid to some, but to others, she gives out this aura of inspiration and power which different individuals may find a surge of motivation to expand their imagination. And, that is exactly what she is doing and she knows it. Stick by or around her and trust me, you’ll have the best time of your life. Her sense of humour can be cringy at times, but it can make you wanting more. The persona that she portrays gives purpose to multidimensional characters and she influences the way of life of others to be better. If you’re feeling more curious, make sure to stay, listen, read and discover the world of Mila.”
